

This project is led by Professor Lee, a law professor at Taipei Medical University, joined by other law professors and medical doctors. The project consists of four topics, which combines as an operating cycle. First topic regards the use of health data for research, and the second topic studies the patent and competition law on AI technology. The third part is focusing on regulation and responsibility of AI medical application, and the fourth part looks from the perspective of medical doctor, explores how a hospital should prepare to accept AI system into clinical procedure.
Applications
This project will cooperate with other projects, those focusing on technology development, and provide the legal and ethical perspectives. Through this cooperation, we hope to help them avoid some legal problems, and let their research moving forward to application smoothly.
Advantages
Taiwan government is promoting AI development, and one of the most promising area is medical AI. Taiwan has a comprehensive coverage health insurance system, which really need AI technology to improve its resource management. This project will search for the balance of healthcare management and clinical performance.
